Adoption Requirements

We want every adoption to be a lifelong success. Here’s what you need to know before applying.

Must have a safe, permanent indoor home

Dogs and cats will not be adopted to fully outdoor-only homes

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccines

Dogs and cats are tested as needed before adoption.

Cats and kittens will not be adopted to homes who intend on declawing them

All household members are encouraged meet the pet before adoption.

Adopters must be at least 18 years old

What do adoption fees cover?

Adoption fees cover spay or neuter surgery, microchipping, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies), a heartworm test for dogs over 6 months, and FeLV/FIV screening for cats.

Can I meet the animal before adopting?

Absolutely! We encourage all potential adopters to visit the shelter and spend time with the animal. We want to make sure it’s a great match for both you and the pet.

Do you adopt to homes with children or other pets?

Yes! We work with you to find the right match. During the application process, we’ll discuss your household and help identify animals that are known to do well with children or other animals.

How long does the adoption process take?

The process typically takes 1–3 days. We review applications carefully to ensure every animal goes to the right home. We’ll contact you as soon as your application is reviewed. Some delays may occur based on vet, or landlord responsiveness.
